Job Summary and Qualifications

Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the Surgical Services and Procedural Patients.

What will you do in this role

Performs direct patient care in the surgical or procedural patient with duties related in developing a surgical plan of care throughout the continuum.

Monitors all patients for pain management.

Provides pre and post-surgical care of patients ranging from adolescent to geriatrics who will have (or have had) general anesthesia, epidural/spinal anesthesia and IV sedation.

Participate in Surgical Services specific initiatives and process improvement.

Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual surgical and procedural patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS provider within one year of employment, required

• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider

• Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license

• Minimum two years critical care preferred

• Adult Pre-Op, Emergency Department, or PACU experience preferred

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position

It provides spine care for common spine disorders. Spine care is also provided for rare, hard-to-treat spinal deformities. Those include adult and pediatric scoliosis and spondylolistheses. We offer complex spine surgery and minimally invasive surgical options.
