Baylor Scott & White Health Sourcing and Contract Manager (Hybrid) in Dallas, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

The Sourcing and Contract Manager is accountable for monitoring contract performance, ensuring proper alignment and communication between organizational stakeholders, tracking key milestones and ensuring that parties are meeting their obligations to maximize utilization and value. This position is instrumental in the execution of commodity strategies for various categories of spend and is a focal point to the business and all other areas of Supply Chain. Sourcing and Contract Manager will partner with cross-functional teams within BSWH to disseminate dashboards in a timely manner, ensure agreed-upon targets are met and earned value (rebates/pricing) is received. Ability to suggest modifications to sourcing strategies accordingly based on stakeholder feedback and alignment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  • Coordinates with various teams and stakeholders to ensure project objective deliverables are met.

  • Provides regular reports and updates to senior management on sourcing compliance outcomes. Continuously engages with end-users and Commodities Directors to know market pressures and impact on internal contracts and to ensure that savings goals and targets are realized for their categories.

  • Drives performance that results in year over year cost reductions through the standardization of products and pursuit of best possible commodity/service costs.

  • Accountable for timely discrimination of compliance and missed opportunity dashboards provided by cross-functional teams.

  • Partners with sourcing, business and legal team members. Serves as a key internal interface with the Sourcing Director and Contracts Manager include Finance, Accounting, Revenue Cycle, business stakeholders, Supply Chain Operations, Logistics, Legal, Risk Management, Compliance and Enterprise Security.

  • Reviews supplier requests to alter terms and conditions, assess risk and provide recommendations that protect the organization’s interests. Addresses supplier questions and effectively resolves and/or escalates disputes, when appropriate.

  • Evaluates optimal delivery/logistics options of products and engages with appropriate internal stakeholders and suppliers in the evaluation and determination of such options.

  • Monitors market information, benchmarking, product introduction and other drives that impact comparative position of contracts.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Knowledge of sourcing and/or contracting process best practices and measurement techniques.

  • Ability to speak technical and legal jargon and explain complex contractual issues in a succinct and simple manner so that people can comprehend.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to view legal and contract matters through a business lens.

  • Contracting and negotiation process expertise to create the best mutual outcomes.

  • Negotiation skills that enable management of complex agreements with significant budget impact.

  • Ability to apply critical thinking to complex problems to develop viable solutions.

  • Data-based skills with ability to manipulate large volumes of spend data for examination of supplier, product and facility utilization.

  • Knowledge of finance and accounting impact of assigned areas of spend.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification

  • EXPERIENCE - A minimum of 3 years experience required
