Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer!

Job Description:

• Performs senior engineering work and coordinates a variety of engineering duties.

• The Manufacturing Engineer will have Process Technicians directly reporting to them.

• Additionally, they are responsible for the planning & design of production machines, improving manufacturing methods, and developing solutions to production problems relating to materials, processes, or tooling. Supports new programs by developing new processes, designing secondary tooling or machinery, developing production controls to maintain cost effectiveness, and determining/acquiring returnable and expendable packaging.

• Oversees the setup of new equipment and optimum operation, including teaching proper usage.

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Designs and implements complex improvements to manufacturing process, tools, machines, or production design and establish procedures to ensure maximum manufacturing capability.

• Develops, coordinates, and maintains secondary, value-added, and specific capital equipment specifications. Oversees design, fabrication, or initial run-off of equipment recommending improvements in equipment, design or methods.

• Provides detailed costs for purchase of new or revised equipment, including alternative options and comparisons to maintain optimum cost savings.

• Develops and implements programs or processes to improve quality, productivity, safety, and cost within the manufacturing area.

• Investigates and manages Engineering Changes to determine if the changes meet customer requirements, meet standards, are feasible, are justifiable, and are accurate. Recommends or rejects changes based on all of the above.

• Develops process for FMEAs and Flow charts for new and revised programs.

• Investigates and resolves customer concerns or problems related to manufacture product, ensuring customer satisfaction.

• Coordinates transfer of major programs between divisions or between Plant and competitors.

• Contributes high level of engineering experience in achieving company goals and objectives managing the completion of some large and small projects in manufacturing engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering

• Experience: Five to eight years of related experience. Additional education may be substituted for experience and vice versa.

• Working Knowledge: Assignments require a combination of education and experience that develops technical capability to independently evaluate, select, and apply techniques and standards.

• Demonstrated capability to effectively build in new manufacturing processes.

• Ability to work independently.
