Robert Half Staff Accountant in Daly City, California

Description

As a Staff Accountant at Urban Harvest Community Markets, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including preparing financial statements, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, manage vendor payments, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions.

  • Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant financial data and analysis.

  • Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Assist with audits and implement improvements to strengthen controls.

  • Tax Compliance: Assist with preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.

  • Support Financial Operations: Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations and provide insights for decision-making.

  • Special Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the finance team and the organization.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related role.

  • Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Certifications: CPA or working towards CPA designation preferred.
