Description:

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for an RN to join our nursing team in our Operating Room!

Employment Type:

Full Time, 40 hours per week

Shift:

7am to 3:30pm, 5 days per week with on-call rotation

This is a Full-Time RN day-shift position for the Operating Room, Monday through Friday with weekend on-call rotation. This position will be five days a week, 8-hour shifts, 7:00AM to 3:30PM.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for:

  • Assessing and evaluating the delivery of case to patients requiring surgical intervention during the multiple phases of care (Pre-Op, Intra-Op, and Post-Op)

  • Accurate documentation of surgical interventions, supply/implant use, procedure events, medication administration, positioning, preparation, and timeout utilizing the EMR application

  • Utilizing the Nursing Process to focus care for the perioperative services patients

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for the delegation of patient care to other members of the healthcare team

  • Preparation of the surgical case by picking supplies, equipment, medications, and implants planned to be utilized in the case

  • Positioning patients for their surgical procedure

  • Collaborate with Attending Surgeon, Surgical Resident, Anesthesiologist, and Nurse Anesthetist for safe delivery of care throughout the Operating Room

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Current Pennsylvania RN License

  • BLS Required

  • Professional Certifications preferred (CNOR)

Minimum education and experience requirements:

  • One Year experience in the Operating Room or equivalent procedural area/unit is required

  • BSN Preferred
