Description of Work

This position works at theManns Harbor Shipyard facilitywith duties to include a variety of technical tasks to accomplish the specialized processing of information, documentation, and materials. Employee typically works with invoices, shipping, receiving, stocking, and disbursing materials, inventory control reports and files. SAP/BSIP/ARIBA programs are used in documenting transactions, packing slips, receipts, and shipping records. Employee inspects materials, puts up stock, maintains stock levels and performs inventory checks. This position will also travel to other Ferry Maintenance Facilities for parts relays or to perform inventory duties.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Computer skills - requisitions, goods receipts, Service Entries, Outline Agreements, Vendor List, maintaining material numbers, invoices, ordering, and general filing.

  • Document all transactions - packing slips, receipts, and shipping records; inspect all materials, goods receipts, put up stock, maintain stock levels, and inventory checks.

  • Communicate with outside vendors, set up any special requirements with unloading stock from trucking company, and correspond with supervisors to let them know when orders have arrived via UPS, FedEx, or other transports, assist in ordering or shipping any products needed in Ferry Division.

  • Maintain good relationships with other personnel in outlying areas and provide assistance with their orders.

  • Maneuver material handling equipment such as forklift and pallet jacks.

  • Keep a safe workplace and environment for others.

  • All other duties as relates to the position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
