Instructor of Data Science Job Locations US-OH-WPAFB ID 2024-7948 Category Instructor/Education/Training Type Regular Full-Time Overview Credence Management Solutions, LLC, is seeking an Instructor of Data Science who will be primarily responsible for supporting the Air Force Institute of Technology School of Systems & Logistics (AFIT/LS) directorate at WPAFB, OH. AFIT/LS is the Air Force's Sole provider of Professional Continuing Education (PCE) Courses in the Areas of Acquisition, Logistics, and Software Engineering. With more than 100 Courses and Seminars, the School Plans, Develops, and Conducts Courses and Programs to Satisfy the Technical Management Educational needs of Logistics, Systems, and Acquisition Customers from the Air Force, Department of Defense (DoD), and other Federal Agencies. More than 20,000 Students Receive Education from AFIT/LS Each Year. The School Currently Offers Joint Service Courses Ranging in Length from Two days to Five Weeks in the Disciplines of Acquisition Management, Engineering Management, Sustainment, and Data Science. It is also the Leader in Web-based Education for the Acquisition and Logistics Workforce, Providing the Tools, Skills, and Abilities to Manage the Entire Spectrum of a Systems Life Cycle. Responsibilities Develop and administer Professional Continuing Education (PCE) courses developed to educate/train joint service active duty, reservist, and National Guard, officers, enlisted, and civilians on tactical, strategic, and operational levels of Data Science, data-driven techniques to improve processes and/or identify patterns and recommend solutions for defense challenges. Able to leverage expertise/knowledge developed via theoretical and practical studies in other disciplines to teach practical techniques to design, access and manage data sets (e.g., information systems and databases). Understand Data Manipulation, Data Relationships/Patterns, Predictive Analytic Models, Data Science techniques, and the deployment of such applications. Have knowledge of data science areas such as databases, machine learning, big data, operations research, computer science, programming, cloud computing, data visualization, and statistics to analyze, design, develop, and employ data-driven applications and support decisions on policies. Apply knowledge of data modeling, statistics, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, and develop valuable learning discoveries. Proactively seeks emerging technology, instructions, and tools to develop learning objectives and provide value within the Data Science team. Required to interact with various course sponsors, subject matter experts, and instructional systems designers to determine educational needs to develop, maintain, and instruct course content appropriately. All curriculums shall be approved by the course leadership and designed to facilitate understanding and engagement in accordance with curriculum standards. Coordinate course offerings, document courses in accordance with Air Force and AFIT policies and conduct post-offering assessments. Instruct students across multiple approved educational platforms and settings to include traditional in residence/on-site classrooms and distance learning services. Available to travel and instruct at various locations, both CONUS and OCONUS as mission requires and approved by the Government. Participate in consultation efforts, and attend or participate in workshops, conferences, technical interchanges, or similar venues as approved by the Government on a case-by-case basis.
