Actalent Mechanical Engineer in Decatur, Alabama

Position Responsibilities:

  • Development and/or improvement of production and maintenance methods and processes.

  • Manage and execute engineering projects.

  • Aid maintenance in troubleshooting equipment issues - much of the equipment operates on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Manage contractors as required for project completion.

  • Maintain budgetary, scheduling, and project database oversight, and report regularly to project manager to keep them informed of job progress, plans, and problems that could significantly affect costs or schedules.

  • Designing and developing innovative solutions for continuous improvement.

  • Determine project scope and design/acquire the necessary materials for implementation.

  • Provide technical support for maintenance and operations and aid in troubleshooting systems.

  • Work with engineering team on larger capital projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in an engineering discipline (Required)

  • 2+ years experience in maintenance/troubleshooting for hydraulic and/or pneumatic equipment

  • 2+ years experience in a heavy manufacturing/industrial environment

  • Experience leading small to medium Capital Projects and budgets
