Siemens Cranes Project House is one of the global key players in de crane electrification, automation and digitalization business. Siemens Cranes offers with her cutting edge soft- and hardware solutions, one integral digital platform for highly automated harbor crane solutions. Simulations with digital twins and fully automated cranes are only a few of the Siemens Cranes developments.

To enforce the sales team consisting of 6 colleagues based in The Netherlands, the department Cranes is searching for an experienced commercial colleague with broad knowhow and interest in automation and digitalization. You work closely together with the global account management team. You will report to the sales group manager in The Netherlands.

As a sales consultant you are responsible to provide deep technical and commercial knowledge and advice to the customers and the sales organization in best-practices and benchmark approaches.

Due to the international aspect of the role, travel is part of the job. This can be one to several weeks at a time.

What are your main responsibilities?

  • Plan and realize feasibility studies, commercial cost-/benefits analyses and calculations and consulting assignments on technical and commercial level to support both customers and sales organization in integrating Siemens portfolio into their product offerings;

  • Prepare and evaluate proposals and support the sales organization in contract negotiations in cooperation with other involved professionals and management;

  • Build and maintain a focused network relationship to Management and Experts in the Cranes market and supports sales and customers as an expert. In this way Support the sales organization to plan and realize sales volumes and potential of target customers;

  • Support the sales organization in complete reporting in CRM systems;

  • Analyse and evaluate markets (both technology and product portfolio), and needs of potential or existing customers and perform benchmarks. Also Analyse strategic trends and developments from a technical and commercial perspective and set up business development plans;

What do you need to be considered for this post?

  • Minimal a bachelor’s degree (master is a plus) in Electrical or Mechanical engineering, specialization in automation is preferred.

  • Demonstrable commercial business to business experience in a comparable function of which at least 5 years in international complex project environment.

  • Deep technical and commercial knowledge of industrial electrical automation.

  • Experience in the container port/terminal handling.

  • Demonstrate ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level.

  • Proven ability to work within teams, juggle multiple projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail. Be the team player, with motivational skills to deliver under time pressure;

  • Fluent in Dutch and English in written and spoken language, German is recommended. International commercial experience with China is also recommended;
