This contract will be in support of the Department of Interior (DOI) Orphan Wells Program Office (OWPO) to provide Section 508 compliance support.

Job Classification

This position is classified as exempt.

Duties and Responsibilities Provide expertise in the design, development, testing, and implementation of 508 compliance and EIT accessibility standards in various documents to include a variety of printed and electronic materials, electronic media, video and computer-based presentation, and web application design. Other functional responsibilities are detailed below. Utilize standard assistive devices, accessibility software, automated identification testing tools to analyze, assess, and remediate software products, tools, materials, and projects. Conduct thorough testing to detect 508 compliance bugs and errors and provide remediation solutions. Review and analyze technical requirements to provide recommendations that meet 508 compliance requirements. Qualifications 3-10 years of related experience as a Section 508 compliance specialist Must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Ability to use assistive technology tools, such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, speech recognition software, and browser accessibility toolbars. Ability to effectively communicate and document 508 requirements and protocols for various work products. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with brevity and clarity. Aptitude to mentor team on 508 semantics. Ability to troubleshoot and proactively find solutions with little to no assistance is strongly desired. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products and Adobe graphics, web, and publishing software, is required. Ability to maintain current knowledge of Section 508, amendments, updates, and industry best practices is required. May be required to undergo a standard background check along with verification of education requirements
