Blue Origin, LLC Fluid Systems Design Engineer II - Upper Stage in Denver, Colorado

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth's orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space.

We are looking for a design engineer with experience in flight vehicle fluid systems to act as a Cognizant Engineer (CogE), supporting the development and delivery of a New Glenn upper stage. As CogE, you will own the complete definition, design, development, cost, manufacturability, and delivery of flight hardware. Knowledge of component design, CAD modelling, aerospace materials, stress analysis, and drawing creation, GD&T, manufacturing methods, part inspection and non-conformance management, and vendor management are needed. You will be expected to work within a team of fluids designers and to collaborate with cross-functional engineers to deliver fully developed and qualified designs integrated into the first launch vehicle.

This upper stage is a space vehicle used to extend New Glenn's market capability to support higher orbits and interplanetary missions. A large part of the challenge in this role will be to deliver simple, low-cost designs that fully meet the functional requirements of the fluid system.

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities: You will ensure complete definition (requirements) of the components You will guide or complete the design and analysis of your components For procured components, you will work with suppliers or other Blue Origin groups to identify and procure components. For in-house components, you will own the design and development. You will lead testing and verification including development, qualification, and acceptance testing You will manage the project plans including cost, schedule, and risk management to ensure timely delivery. You will lead the team delivering your components, including cross-functional contributors as an integral part of the team.
