Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Work closely with project managers, planners, engineers, graphic designers, and other subject-matter experts to develop client-focused publications for our clients, often in a fast-paced environment. Conduct varying levels of editorial review (developmental/technical editing; copy editing; proofreading) of a wide variety of transportation planning, environmental, and engineering documents, including but not limited to, area development plans, master plans, traffic management studies, environmental assessments, facility condition assessments, meeting minutes, PowerPoint presentations, marketing materials, etc. These documents can range anywhere from 20 to 400+ pages in length, and include technical narrative, tabular data, and maps and plans, and often go thr Simplify complex information and produces precise, clear instructions or explanations, often for a specialized audience. Revise written material to improve readability and fitness, as well as ensuring that a text is free of grammatical errors. Be familiar with and able to integrate grammar and writing style rules from varying style guides, including the GPO Style Manual, Chicago Manual of Style, and the Handbook of Technical Writing, as well as the International System of Units. The ability to assist with light formatting using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Adobe InDesign is a plus. Assist Quality Control/Editing team with establishing and disseminating grammar and style standards to the general staff. Preferred Qualifications Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to deal effectively with diverse individuals at all organizational levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detail- and deadline-oriented. Commitment to excellence and high standards. Willingness to be flexible with daily and weekly hours and schedule to meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands for your time in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented and able to work independently. Minimum 10 years technical editing experience. Master's degree in English, communications, journalism, or similar. Experience with technical editorial review of NEPA documents. #LI-LA1

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or closely related field A minimum of 3 years technical editing experience Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook Knowledge of Adobe and InDesign An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
