Job Overview

Perform traditional dispatch duties for the security department while working closely with contracted security professionals. Coordinate daily operations as determined by the Security Standard Operating Procedures and perform assigned role during emergency level situations in accordance with all policies, procedures and regulations to ensure the safety and security of the hotel's assets, guests, and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate the properties surveillance (CCTV) system to include retrieving video.

  • Manage and document a concise security report on a daily log including incidents of theft, accidents and safety violations for all security operations conducted on property.

  • Accurately complete the necessary security and safety forms to document occurrences of key operations and incidents.

  • Report all information to the Dir. of Security and other appropriate leadership in a timely manner.

  • Be the primary point of contact for security through phone, email, text and radio communications.

  • Respond to all incidents requiring emergency services to be contacted, contact emergency services and assist in escorting emergency services to the incident’s location.

  • Maintain familiarity of all hotel disaster and emergency policies, procedures and regulations; immediately perform assigned role for emergency alarms or calls for help, determine course of action, notify appropriate authorities and perform first aid and CPR as needed.

  • Conduct investigations of security incidents under the management of the Director of Security.

  • Dispatch contracted security officers to respond to incidents, conduct patrols, enforce the property’s code of conduct, customer service needs, etc.

  • Perform operational security duties as needed for events and other unarmed security needs.

  • Respond to any guest complaints and concerns and investigate to remedy the situation with a sense of urgency.

  • Manage the lost and found program as determined through the policies and procedures.

  • Communicate with RTD and other entities.

  • All other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

High school education or equivalent experience.

Experience

Prior experience in computer usage, customer service, administration and/or physical security.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification; good communication skills, ability to recognize drug and alcohol abuse.

  • Ability to communicate through a portable radio. May require a second language.

  • Excellent hearing required to communicate with guests, employees, and contractors via radio.

  • Excellent vision required for emergencies, visual safety inspections.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills required to communicate with guests, employees, contractors.

  • Excellent comprehension and literacy required to complete reports, logs.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills required to communicate with guests, employees, contractors.

  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying: May be necessary to carry people or equipment in emergency situation.

  • Bending/kneeling would be necessary in administering CPR and First Aid.

  • Continuous sitting while working with computers.

  • Continuous standing -only required during events or other special circumstances. Uses stairs in responding to fire alarms -no elevators.

  • No driving required.

Environment

Work inside 99% of shift: exceptions include escorts, safety and security checks as needed, and emergency level events.Abnormal temperatures -summer 110 degrees; winter -10 degrees.
