Food Bank Of The Rockies Volunteer Operations Specialist in Denver, Colorado

Classification: Non-Exempt Reports To: Volunteer Operations Supervisor Location: Denver Compensation: $20.00

Overview Join us as a Volunteer Operations Specialist and play a key role in creating a positive and impactful volunteer experience. You'll oversee various projects, including Sorting, Repack, CSFP, Loose Repack, and Produce Bag projects. Your responsibilities include ensuring safety, organizing work areas, and providing hands-on support to volunteers. Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with both the public and Food Bank of the Rockies (FBR) staff. Collaborate with the Volunteer Operations Supervisor to maintain inventory accuracy, manage data entry, and ensure a memorable and fulfilling experience for all volunteers.

Primary Responsibilities: Oversees various tasks including project setup and breakdown of work areas Orients volunteers as to duties, Food Bank of the Rockies mission and various programs Trains volunteers in all processes that take place in the Volunteer Center Assists with managing re-call items received from Feeding America (FA) and monitor for compliance Maintains the warehouse in a neat, clean and orderly manner according to Feeding America and FBR sanitation standards of practice Organize, clean and secure Volunteer Center at end of each workday Maintains safety standards with various types of food product (frozen, refrigerated, and dry) and communicating said standards to volunteers Follows all FBR safety guidelines and regulations Provides back up support for other Volunteer Operations staff

Standing and walking throughout the shift; sitting intermittently Daily use heavy equipment including forklift, stand up/sit down lift truck, step up pallet jack, automatic pallet jack and manual pallet jack Ability to push and pull up to 2,000 lb. pallets with a manual pallet jack Frequently lifts to 40 pounds Working in a multi-temp warehouse environment, temperatures may vary (hot/cold)

Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required Prior experience working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment preferred Forklift certification preferred Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook Experience with warehouse management systems a plus

Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, non-exempt role working approximately 40 hours per week eligible for overtime for any hours worked over 40 in any workweek. Work schedule will be Monday - Friday, or Tuesday - Saturday.
