The Opportunity

As a Senior Production Manager within our Paint Plant, you will deputise for senior managers and provide cover across shifts as needed. You will lead a paint plant and its employees, prepare schedules, resolve issues, and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards.

Building Construction Products at Leicester is dedicated to the assembly of small construction machines, typically used on building and construction sites - Backhoe Loaders and Compact Wheel Loaders. Founded in 1952, Leicester was the first venture by Caterpillar outside the United States.

What you will do:

As a Senior Production Manager , your accountable for, but not limited to:

• Deputise for GM/senior manager as required and cover holidays across the 3 shifts when required

• Creating and monitoring reports and records of production goals, performance issues, and inventory; sharing them with managers and providing suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality.

• Preparing, maintaining, and updating documentation related to operating procedures, safety and quality standards; ensuring all meet desired safety and quality requirements.

• Guiding a team of production lines workers, their schedule, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance. Providing training, development and coaching to new and existing employees.

• Promoting internal communication to create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

What You Can Demonstrate:

• Manufacturing Operations: Facilitates communications across departments to ensure a smooth workflow in the plant or facility. Supervises and coordinates daily operations to ensure production targets and forecasts are achieved.

• People: Lead, motivate, evaluate, and recognise employees. Understanding the skills and experience of the team to highlight gaps and/or training/development needs.

• Manufacturing Safety : Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify hazards and perform necessary activities to meet compliance requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.

• Must be proficient with all Microsoft office products.

What You May Have:

• Process Improvement: Evaluates production methods and maintains focus, with team input, on promoting the continuous improvement of processes and products.

• Previous paint plant shop floor experience and have a mechanical aptitude.

• Strategic planning experience.

Job Title: Senior Paint Plant Production Manager

Salary: £45,300 – £54,000 depending on experience

Contract : Permanent

Hours : Full Time – Rotating shift pattern - Shift Allowance: 20% Mid shift, 27% Nights
