The Senior Director of Procurement plays an integral role in shaping and leading procurement/sourcing strategies within Rocket Companies and across the Rock Family of Companies. As a result, this senior leader must understand the business needs, drivers and ensure the optimization of costs and services delivered within the defined categories. As the Senior Director, you'll lead a team of procurement leaders and other professionals across technology, product, data and other third-party vendor spend. You will be responsible for leading, driving, and owning cost optimization strategies, including cost reduction and avoidance, by implementing innovative sourcing techniques and negotiating favorable contract terms within your assigned category.

About the Role

  • Lead and develop procurement teams across technology, product, data, and other spend categories. Implement end-to-end sourcing strategies to maximize value, drive internal performance, and meet industry standards

  • Create a clear vision for team and align/build collaborative partnerships with team members, key strategic vendors and internal stakeholders across Rocket Companies within a continuous improvement culture

  • Lead and guide other leaders and team members in identifying opportunities for sourcing consolidation and cost reduction. Achieve results by effectively communicating and meeting expectations

  • Promote teamwork and open communication through team and individual meetings

  • Serve as the subject matter expert and lead creation and conduction the RFI, RFP and RFQ process for assigned categories across RHI/FOC

  • Lead in developing, maintaining and improving technology, product, data and other procurement strategies

  • Track technology, product, data and other category performance internally and against industry standards. Build collaborative relationships; draw conclusions and makes recommendations to leadership within procurement and across RHI/FOC internal stakeholders

  • Lead interviews of key internal stakeholders/business owners through the executive level to define specifications and requirements on projects with moderate scope, impact and complexity

  • Lead multiple sourcing events for wide ranging scope, impact and complexity, including project plans, timelines, communication strategies, etc.

  • Lead efforts on complex projects to negotiate terms and conditions with vendors for contracts

  • Offer strategic advice to the procurement team on negotiations and lead negotiations of varying complexity, emphasizing business terms. Assist in drafting standard legal documents, including master agreements, contract attachments, extensions, and non-disclosure agreements

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain leadership, finance, computer science, engineering, economics or business

  • 12 years of management and leadership experience

  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications

  • Deep understanding of ITO and BPO service models, industry best practices, and emerging trends.

  • Knowledge of electronic sourcing tools/ERP Systems (Workday)

  • Proven research and analytical skills, including experience in conducting stakeholder interviews

  • PC skills with off-the-shelf analytical tools and software (e.g. Microsoft products — Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)

  • Project leadership experience, including designing and leading projects

  • Leadership skills and ability to influence a diverse group of internal customers, including some public speaking opportunities

  • Comprehension of procurement governance and processes with the ability to ensure that technology, product, data and other procurements are compliant with Rocket Companies, RHI and FOC policies

  • Ability to drive business results, within established parameters, with minimal leadership direction and assistance

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous and/or time-sensitive situations

  • Experience leading procurement events

  • Experience leading Procurement/Sourcing team
