As an SDE at Amazon, you can expect to design flexible, scalable solutions, and work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming.

• Actively participate in concept development and idea generation.

• Build and iterate that express design intent, using the best and most appropriate tools and techniques for the task.

• Be able to work creatively through and around perceived limitations and/or challenges imposed by the delivery platform to create delightful experiences for customers.

• Effectively present work to all levels of the leadership.

• Be an effective collaborator in a cross functional team of FEEs, SDEs and PEs.

A day in the life

You will collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and data scientists to build a new mobile experience focused on helping our Selling Partners run and grow their businesses. You will work across teams and with AWS solutions. You will be the primary driver of the decisions around technology solutions and data flows. We are embedded with a Software organization, so you will have access to the growing team of software developers and product managers as we tackle solutions to improve the lives of our Selling Partners.

About the team

The Core Selling Partner Experience team defines, implements, and enforces quality standards for all Amazon-built experiences for all of our selling partners worldwide. We are seeking an innovative and self-motivated Software Development Engineer to develop technical solutions to measure and evaluate the quality of selling partner-facing tools against our quality standards, and ultimately implement enforcement actions when experiences do not meet the established bars. Every day, you collaborate with designers, engineers, applied scientists, and product managers in and outside of the core team to brainstorm new ideas, test these ideas quickly and once proven, deploy them. As a key member in the team, you will provide inputs into defining, shaping the technology and roadmap for the overall program.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
