GE Healthcare Junior Field Service Engineer in Diegem, Belgium

Job Description Summary

As a (Junior) Field Service Engineer, you’ll carry out preventative maintenance, installations, troubleshooting and repairs on life-changing medical equipment. The kind of high-tech machinery you will be responsible for could include Mammo, Ultrasound, CT, Vascular or Radiology, all of which are vital to enable our hospital and healthcare customers to diagnose their patients. You’ll work out in the field, traveling from customer to customer, staying focused and calm under pressure as you solve complex problems to fix important products. In order to plan and organize your day, your will be supported by our planning team. As a Junior Field Service Engineer you will receive extensive training during the first year with us, and you will work under supervision of an experienced Field Service Engineer.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and service repair needs on designated equipment.

  • Completing Preventative Maintenance and Field Modification Instructions.

  • Ordering and managing repair parts cycle times.

  • Keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner.

  • Maintaining daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.

  • Maintaining tools and test equipment properly and ensuring they are calibrated.

  • Working as a member of the local team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within assigned area.

  • May include training of clinical staff on designated equipment.

Required Qualifications :

  • Educational background in Electrotechnics, Mechanics or similar;

  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment;

  • Fluent Dutch and good English language skills, French is an advantage;

  • Valid drivers license.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Some experience with troubleshooting and responding to customer concerns;

  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy to understand manner.
