Job Posting Summary
This position assists the Budget Director in processing and maintaining the University’s annual salary and operating budgets.
A. Administrative/Technical/Service
Assist in the confidential development and reconciliation of the annual salary (position control), benefit, and operating budgets.
Works closely with HR in the NeoEd hiring process to ensure listings are posted properly
Maintain tracking process for salary budget changes in the HR Banner via position control.
Input, monitor, and track budget changes (transfers/re-allocations/funding requests) during the year.
Liaison with budget owners to clarify/confirm budget transfers.
Participate in the preparation of actual expense vs. budget variance for the Business Affairs Committee.
Revenue and expense analysis of program and course fees.
Journal preparation, EPAF approvals.
Liaison with IT regarding Banner implementation and maintenance of budgeting modules (Salary Planner; Budget Development; HR Banner; Banner Finance).
Documentation of Banner related Budgeting processes.
Assist in the preparation of actual expense vs. budget variance analysis for the Finance Committee.
Prepare academic revenue and cost analysis – academic matrix.
Perform other duties/projects as assigned

Qualifications
Education Requirements:
A MBA is preferred or a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business analytics.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum one to two years of accounting experience.
Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication, problem-solving, organizational and presentation skills.
Strong computer proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Banner, Tableau
Demonstrated evidence of detail orientation, customer service orientation, ability to work independently, ability to perform advanced analytic analysis required.
Understanding of financial reporting, salary and personnel budgeting
Ability to travel between locations required.
Compensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual.

The Mercy University Retirement Plan is comprised of two components:
Deferred Compensation Plan
All eligible employees may contribute to the Deferred Compensation Plan on a pre-tax basis upon joining the University.
Defined Contribution Plan
Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy University and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary. If an employee is under age 36, they will receive a contribution of 3.3% of their annual salary each pay period. If an employee is age 36 or older, they will receive a contribution of 9% of their annual salary each pay period.
If employed full-time for two (2) or more consecutive years by another institution(s) of higher education (college or university), without an intervening break in service within the last twelve (12) months prior to employment before joining Mercy, please submit a waiting period waiver form to Office of Human Resources. The Defined Contribution will begin as of the first day of the month following receipt of the completed waiver form.
