Job Summary

Raytheon Doha, as part of Raytheon, delivers the latest Land Warfare – Air Defense systems to the Middle East customers. We have an exciting opportunity for a NASAMS Technical Lead to join our team within our Qatar NASAMS program office. In partnership with the Short and Medium Range Air Defense Systems Product Area we are delivering NASAMS systems to our partner nation, Qatar and transitioning into Operations and Sustainment.

In this role you will partner with the Program Director and Chief Engineer in providing technical support for the Qatar NASAMS operated by the Qatar Emiri Air Defense Force (QEADF). Working closely with both the QEADF and the U.S. Government personnel you will resolve technical issues, with the support of technical experts in Qatar, Norway, and the United States.

This Accompanied onsite role will be in Doha, Qatar and will be a 2-year international assignment with additional compensation.

Responsibilities to Anticipate

  • Responsible for the technical implementation of the Qatar NASAMS program, providing guidance, direction, oversight, and accountability for the team of engineers and field service representatives deployed to Qatar.

  • Participate in the development and review of program plans, tactics, and strategies to ensure technical excellence.

  • Oversee in-country technical implementation for the Qatar NASAMS program, coordinating technical and advisory support to QEADF on NASAMS System.

  • Work closely with technical subject matter experts from Raytheon and Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace.

  • Provide senior level customer engagement.

  • Partner with CONUS Chief Engineer to establish technical baselines and develop technology insertion roadmaps through field support, sustainment, and system upgrades.

  • Act as the primary product line technical contact for the customer's senior engineering / technical counterparts, responding to technical inquires in a timely manner.

  • Balance customer satisfaction levels with risk of taking on tasking outside of the contractual scope.

  • Support development of cost, schedule, and budget information for Estimate at Completions (EACs) and proposals at the business level.

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience; or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience.

  • Experience guiding a multi-disciplinary team across all engineering disciplines including systems, hardware, software, integration and test, and sustainment.

  • Experience presenting technical data and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences, senior level internal & external stakeholders, and customers.

  • Knowledge of air defense system operation and sustainment.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with development, test, deployment, or operation of the NASAMS System including Sentinel Radar, Canister Launchers (MK1C / MKII), Communication Network System (CNS), and Fire Distribution Center (FDC)s.

  • Experience with UHF / VHF communications, Battalion Network Data Link (BNDL), operational setup / configuration of MEIs in different scenarios based on country layout.

  • Experience with design and sustainment with the medium range air defense and products.

  • Experience with NASAMS Integration to Higher Echelon Unit (C2), Air Defense Operations Center (ADOC) / Alternate Defense Operations Center (AADOC)

  • Excellent communication skills with customers.

  • Comprehension of various programs and product portfolios.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
