Eversource Energy GIS Technician in Dorchester, Massachusetts

GIS Technicians are responsible for performing GIS editing assignments on the Eversource Eastern Massachusetts Electric Transmission, Substation and Distribution system. State of the art GIS systems (ESRI ArcGIS v10.8.1) and all related company systems (i.e. Maximo Work Management, OMNI Customer Information) and databases will be used.

RATES OFPAY:$35.73 - $47.27

CURRENTLY POSTEDHOURS:7:00am – 3:30pm

SCHEDULE:M-F

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Technical education evidenced by an Associate Degree in GIS Technology or equivalent certification from a technical school of collegiate grade. This degree, or equivalent formal technical education, must be in a field applicable to the engineering and/or technical activities of the GIS Records Department.

2. Requires two years of experience in computer aided drafting (GIS, AutoCAD) or equivalent.

3. Massachusetts Driver’s License and approved to operate company vehicles.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Post all changes, designed or as-built, to the transmission, substation, and distribution, and land-base asset records in GIS through work order, work request, system change notices, field checks and/or any document that reflects a change to the system. The primary tools used would be Geographical Information System (GIS), AutoCAD systems and its editors or by hand to the necessary paper documents.

Responsible for the quality, accuracy and timely posting of Company/Customer distribution, transmission and land-base records in GIS through final editing and posting of all pertinent records.

Tracks the status of construction on work orders by receiving and reconciling paperwork from the appropriate systems.

Conducts field look-ups; both overhead and underground to verify the accuracy of distribution and transmission records in support of the work order process.

Provides general support for the customers. This includes activities in the design, construction and posting stages as needed to support the flow of work.

Utilizes computer application tools such as, but not limited to, the Company’s Work Management System, Customer Information System, Geographical Information System, PC based applications and others needed to manage workflow.

Participates, on an as needed basis, in the conduct of training and educating Company/customer personnel in the understanding and use of all records systems pertaining to distribution and transmission work.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

Compensation and Benefits:
