Position Summary
Reporting to Zufall Health’s SVP of External Affairs, the Development Director functions as a member of a dynamic development team within a robust and innovative community health system who is integral in the identification, cultivation, and management of individual and corporate donors to the Zufall Health Foundation and Zufall Health Center.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
Proactively identify and cultivate prospects for fundraising activities including individuals and corporate donors.
Steward individual and corporate donors in partnership with the SVP of External Affairs and Special Events Director including cultivation of movement of donors to larger gifts and major donors.
Collaborate with SVP of External Affairs and Communications team on annual giving campaigns and prospect and donor cultivation and capital campaigns.
Collaborate with the Special Events Director and Communications team for events including, but not limited to the Annual BeWell Gala,Smiles for Our Heroes,Art Show Openings, and health center PR events.
Collaborate with the Development Assistant to ensure successful logging and tracking of gifts received and sending of proper donation acknowledgments.
Collaborate with the Development Assistant to ensure that donor data is updated with current information in the CRM.
Coordinate with Finance team on bank reconciliations and deposits of donations.
Maintain ongoing communications with individual and corporate donors.
Participate in strategic planning activities with External Affairs team.
Collaborate with SVP of External Affairs to generate fundraising reports and board reports.
Collaborate with SVP of External Affairs to build a planned giving program.
Maintain knowledge of IRS regulations with regard to charitable donation laws.
Perform other duties as directed by the SVP of External Affairs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent writing, verbal, collaborative, and interpersonal skills required
Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple projects/deadlines
Excellent computer skills, including experience in fundraising management databases
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
Ability to work independently and in a team
Knowledge of local community a plus
Capacity for high-volume, fast-paced, detail-oriented work, and handling of sensitive, confidential information
Education, Training, and Experience
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of five years of fundraising experience and Certified Fundraising Executive credential preferred
Experience in community health, public health, medicine or human services preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and fundraising database management
