Overview
A stormwater pollution prevention plan stormwater compliance inspector is a professional responsible for inspecting various stormwater management facilities, including construction sites, industrial facilities, and municipal infrastructure. The primary responsibility of a stormwater inspector is to ensure that the facilities comply with federal, state, and local regulations related to stormwater management.
Responsibilities
The duties of a stormwater compliance inspector may include the following:
- Conducting inspections of construction sites, industrial facilities, and municipal infrastructure to ensure compliance with stormwater regulations.
- Identifying violations and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Preparing and maintaining inspection reports and records.
- Providing technical support to facility owners and operators to help them achieve compliance with stormwater regulations.
- Communicating with regulators and other stakeholders to coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- Highschool equivalency
- One year of relevant stormwater inspector experience.
- Capable of field work, walking on difficult terrain (as needed) and driving to job sites (potentially long distances)
- Valid Utah Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Experience in the area of Stormwater management and Stormwater MS4 permit compliance
- Knowledge of Federal and State Stormwater regulations
- Strong interpersonal skills including ability to deal with people under difficult conditions, resolve conflicts, work under time pressure and experience in working across multiple work groups or organizations
- Demonstrates analytical, problem solving, and data analysis skills
- Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to assume responsibility. Demonstrates ability to
- plan and coordinate work, analyze management problems and write reports
- Must have intermediate computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Office Suite. Desired experience in ArcGIS, Google Drive Suite including; Docs, Sheets, Forms, & Presentations
- Must be self motivated and be able to solve new unforeseen problems. Ask questions when needed and have confidence and pride in your work. Must maintain a positive attitude.
