As the Director of DevOps / Platform Engineering, you will play a hands-on role in leading and enhancing the DevOps and platform engineering practices within our organization. This pivotal position involves not only guiding the team but also actively participating in resolving issues, advancing our operational maturity, ensuring compliance, managing vulnerabilities, and developing innovative solutions through automation and cutting-edge technologies. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including the E&I Org, to modernize legacy systems and drive growth through modern, open-source solutions and cloud technologies such as Azure, Azure Databricks, and Azure AKS.

Primary Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership and Support:

o Lead and support the infrastructure platforms for E&I and other business units.

o Provide expert guidance on designing, planning, and building robust technical solutions.

o Maintain and support Linux server infrastructure.

o Own and manage Kubernetes clusters, ensuring their reliability, scalability, and security.

o Leverage Azure cloud services, including Azure Databricks and Azure AKS, to enhance platform capabilities.

• Automation and Best Practices:

o Design and implement automated pipelines and promote Agile and DevOps best practices.

o Utilize GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline automation.

o Integrate multiple analytic platforms to streamline the data science toolkit for end users.

o Address performance and scalability issues, ensuring capacity planning aligns with business initiatives.

o Develop and enforce best practices and frameworks for automation, security, workload placement, release, and change management.

o Utilize Azure services to automate and optimize infrastructure and application deployment.

• Hands-On Support and Collaboration:

o Provide hands-on technical support to Data Scientists and Data Engineers. Collaborate with the broader infrastructure team, offering mentorship and support.

o Present technical solutions and designs to senior leadership and technical groups.

o Mentor team members, fostering their technical growth and development.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

• Extensive experience in Linux system administration and enterprise IT support.

• Proven expertise in building Docker containers and supporting Kubernetes environments, including Helm charts, Flux/

• Experience in creating and maintaining automated pipelines through code.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, R and Shell

• Experience with version control systems like GitHub or GitLab.

• Capability to juggle multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Azure, including Azure Databricks and Azure AKS.

• Self-starter and collaborative team player with a passion for technology and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Python and R package management.

• Experience with data science and analytics technologies and tools.

• Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and translate learning into practical implementations.

• Self-motivated, creative, innovative, and results-driven with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both business and technical teams.

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

• Experience in managing global stakeholders across multiple geographies.
