The Cybersecurity & Trust Engineering team (CSTE) in CST is the central driving force of Engineering and Cybersecurity initiatives for CST and the Microsoft CELA department. The Engineering Excellence (EE) function within CSTE is entrusted with dual essential missions. The first is to instill cohesion, ensure measurable transparency, and uphold accountability across all Engineering and Cybersecurity efforts within CELA, thus propelling Microsoft's Security-First commitment, enhancing our security framework, seeking engineering efficiencies and synergies, and cultivating talent development. The second mission involves EE leading the strategic direction and implementation of services, features, and products that enrich Developer (DevOps) Experiences, underscored by a rigorous commitment to best practices and the forward-thinking integration of AI and other technological advancements

The CSTE EE function is actively seeking a Principal Product Manager for the Developer Experiences and Quality portfolio . The ideal candidate will have proven experience with Azure, software and quality engineering disciplines. The candidate will be a dedicated proponent of data-driven transformation, demonstrating a strong commitment to teamwork, integrity, and accountability. This individual will possess the insight to understand business functions and requirements, effectively translating them into innovative working applications while adeptly managing competing priorities.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Customer-Centric Mindset : Lead the analysis of user needs and synthesis of business requirements, drive a product vision rooted in innovation and quantifiable (measurable) business impact (e.g. product metric), and own a comprehensive "go-to-market" strategy that encompasses early demonstrations, piloting, training, “sales pitch (PRFAQ),” and communications.

  • End-to-End Ownership : Develop product roadmaps and maintain ownership from inception to launch, as well as throughout the continuous improvement lifecycle; prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

  • Engineering Delivery : Cultivate a robust technical understanding of the product and portfolio, oversee Scrum Master / Technical Program Manager(s) and partner with engineering leaders to translate business requirements into engineering features, drive detailed designs, enforce ADO records and other engineering best practices, analyze engineering metrics, and conduct regular business and engineering reviews.

  • Matrix Engagement : Leverage lessons learned and seize opportunities to accelerate progress by forging partnerships with the broader Engineering and Product Management; timely and effective communications of challenges that may impact business timelines

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field

  • Extensive experience in technical product management, technical program management, or equivalent 

  • Experience working with Engineering teams

  • Experience with highly complex projects, responsible for activities related to requirement gathering, distilling highly complex business requirements, and writing product features that would meet user needs

  • Experience with PowerBI and Azure DevOps

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean Six Sigma, PMP, Product Owner Certifications

  • Must be a self-starter with excellent attention to detail and desire to learn new technologies.

  • Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment

  • Proactiveness; a strong positive outlook and approach to change management

  • Be able to work under pressure and deadlines, with ability to manage complexity while driving clarity

  • Must be able to organize, schedule work and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality

  • Must be able to work in a matrix environment

  • Must possess excellent analytical and critical thinking skills 

  • Design skills: creating accessible and user-centric layout, familiarity with UX designs, UX tools such as Figma

  • Understanding of basic AI concepts (LLM’s, ML, prompt Engineering, etc.)

  • Experience with developing and implementing organizational frameworks, standards, and processes

  • Ability to influence others inside and outside of direct team
