The Moulding Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, overhaul, adjustment and modification of all Injection Moulding machines, pea-shooting vacuum systems and all other ancillary equipment. In addition to this the MMT will also support troubleshooting and continuous improvement

Responsibilities:

  • To install, modify and maintain the full range of Moulding & ancillary equipment.

  • To continuously improve the Moulding operation. This includes:

  • Specifically fine-tuning Moulding & ancillary equipment to increase output.

  • Reducing downtime and waste.

  • To maintain Moulding / ancillary lines at optimal performance.

  • To work to the highest engineering standards.

  • To deal with all breakdowns within the Moulding Dept.

  • To carry out Injection Moulding Presses overhauls.

  • Ensure all PM / CM requirements are complied with.

  • undertake OEM works within the embecta maintenance function.

  • To assist in the complete validation of new and existing equipment including acceptance trials, debugging etc.

  • To deal/liaise with vendors, suppliers and local engineering shops.

  • To become involved in analysing customer complaints and internal quality issues and assist in drawing up improvement programmes for equipment to eliminate these defects from being produced.

  • To assist with the training of other Technicians, new recruits and apprentices as required.

  • To fully participate in companywide continuous improvement initiatives, working in teams as required and utilising appropriate quality tools as applicable.

  • To maintain appropriate recording and reporting systems on all engineering related matters (e.g., breakdowns, maintenance etc.)

  • Full utilisation of all current and new IT/processing systems e.g., SAP.

  • To maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping to ensure area, machines and equipment are maintained in a safe and clean condition. Correct and/or report unsafe conditions and other faults.

Educational & Experience

  • National Craft Certificate in maintenance or a similar skilled craft in the mechanical area. A 3rd level qualification and/or relevant experience is also preferable, coupled with relevant further training courses and qualifications.

  • Minimum of 4 years maintenance experience preferably in the medical industry. Other industries such as automotive and packaging also considered.

  • Injection Moulding experience is a big plus for this role.

  • The ability to apply a scientific approach to problem solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximize productivity and yields.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

  • The ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

  • Relevant PC skills, including SolidWorks
