The Terminal Maintenance Manager job entails the management of overall operation of company garages as well as light and heavy fleet of vehicles.  Supervises Mechanics and Shop Hands.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. * *Plan and direct the operations of the company garage
2.  Develop and maintain efficient shop performance standards, procedures and policies.
3. Maintain adherence to company operations and safety policies
4. Create and assure accuracy of parts inventories
5. Develop and maintain department budget tocontrol maintenance costs relating to personnel, purchasing, inventory controland outsourcing of repairs
6. Direct repair, service and maintenance of company vehicles
7. Develop and supervise vehicle preventive maintenance  schemes
8. REview periodic repair procedures to ensure completeness, accuracy and efficiency
9. Recommend vehicles meant for replacement and arrange for necessary disposal or auctino
10. Interview, train and discipline subordinate staff members
11. Assess training for staff and personnel
12. Direct supervisory staff inplanningof automotive repair and maintenance jobs
13. Investigate vehicle accidents with the Company's Safety representatives, negotiate for any possible settlements and authorze any repairs or maintenance of company vehicles
14. Create and implement performance procedures and policies
15. Make assessments of training needs
16. Prepare vehicle specifications meant for purchase
17. Operate and utilize computerized tracking systems
18. Analyze full operating costs
19. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

1.  CLASS A CDL 
2. ABILITY TO PASS A DOT PHYSICAL AND DRUG SCREENING
3. THREE YEARS OF RELATED EXPERIENCE OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE IN A MAINTENANCE FACILITY SUPPORTING CLASS 8 COMMERCIAL VEHICLES

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. ROUTINE LIFTING TO 50 POUNDS, REGULAR HANDLING, GRASPING, KNEELING AND CARRYING, AND CONSTANT USE OF VISION AND MENTAL ALERTNESS IS REQUIRED.
