Job Description

Join us as we transform the healthcare industry in North Carolina and beyond. The Director of Corporate Strategy will direct and manage staff responsible for driving the understanding of the current and future external market environment and led efforts to define, refine and activate strategies to actualize our organizational mission, vision. This leader will be the champion for insight-driven decisions, innovation, consumer-centric experience, and local/national collaborations. Also, guide the establishment of overall organizational strategies to positively impact both the management of today’s business as well as the evolution of the organization.

Job Functions

  • Leads the process of developing, refining, and communicating the company’s short and long-term business strategy to include company posture, strategic imperatives and activation plan with high level direction from the Head of Diversified Business Group & Chief Strategy Officer.

  • Appropriately engage and collaborate with stakeholders to positively impact enterprise business efforts and create superior value and target market differentiation while delivering sustainable financial potential.

  • Responsible for the design and delivery of complex, transformational initiatives that advance business outcomes and are aligned with enterprise strategy.

  • Able to quickly mobilize resources and deftly respond to unanticipated or time-sensitive business needs.

  • Appropriately engage and collaborate with internal senior leadership to develop divisional strategies, business and operating models, business cases, refining initiative scope, and tracking value delivery.

  • Partner with senior leadership across the enterprise to ensure input is properly solicited from all areas of the business to drive support, change and action. Ensure input is integrated into the strategic plan and provide guidance/direction on strategic alignment.

  • Work with key leadership staff in articulating and crafting area-specific strategic priorities linked to the corporate mission, vision and strategy. Clearly understand and anticipate the key performance objectives for each operating unit and the challenges, obstacles and opportunities to achieve those goals.

  • Working in partnership with other key stakeholders, develop both short and long-term performance targets, forecasts and projections with appropriate performance monitoring and management.

  • Serves as a trusted advisor to the enterprise with deep expertise in health care industry, managed care operations, structured problem solving approach, and ability to quickly gain buy-in through a consultative approach.

Hiring Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare or strategy consulting, strategic development, or financial analysis.

  • Extensive experience leading and developing complex business and/or contractual initiatives and serving as the principal liaison to business executives, internal and external, and other outside advisors

  • Significant success and experience identifying new opportunities, creating products/programs/solutions and driving change.

  • 5+ years experience in health care industry, managed care experience preferred

  • 5 years experience leading teams and/or directly managing staff
