Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Program Manager - Network Strategy and Vendor Management to join our already skilled team of experts. You'll be a trusted member of a high energy, tight-knit, creative team. We want people who have a real passion for what they do and will apply it to our high-performance culture. Your responsibilities will be to ensure absent internal coordination occurs for critical Blue Cross NC provider contracts required for the delivery and filling of Blue Cross NC networks. You will evaluate network performance and address deficiencies with multiple stakeholders such as Network, Legal, Product Development, Actuarial, Strategy, and Sales. Additionally, this position will be responsible for ongoing, successful relationship and contract management between assigned vendors and Blue Cross NC. A successful candidate will have experience managing large scale programs with multiple vendors, and enjoy a fast-paced cross-functional environment.

  • Serve as primary contact to assigned vendors and proactively lead vendor relationship management and negotiations of new and renewing provider contracts.

  • Execute the enterprise contract compliance process, including negotiating contracts, identifying deliverables and obligations and monitoring compliance with contract terms.

  • Work cross-functionally to coordinate with stakeholders such as Network, Legal, Product Development, Actuarial, Strategy, and Sales.

  • Establish and monitor performance metrics and goals for programs, including process measures, outcomes measures and financial measures. Document and present program results through operational reports, outcomes studies, presentations and publications.

  • Develop and manage budgets to control expenditures in accordance with budget allocations, together with the conformance to timing, limits and usage of funding as agreed upon in the spending plan for the assigned program(s).

  • Ensure that programs meet appropriate regulatory and accreditation standards. Ensure that the program fully cooperates with the organizational governance functions and provides oversight for the definition and exercise of regular iteration and reporting required by organizational governance policies.

​Hiring Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of program or project management experience in the area of program specialization.

  • In lieu of degree, 9 years of experience as stated above.

Hiring Preferences

  • Experience in healthcare payer environment.

  • Strategic visioning and planning skills to align program goals and benefits with the long-term goals of the organization.

  • Superior communication and collaboration skills to deal with various stakeholders, team members, sponsors, managing directors, customers, vendors, senior management, and providers.
