Job Description
Complying with all internal and external safety regulations pertaining to environmental protection and occupational & process safety according to the GRACE EHS system and ensuring that the staff assigned to the executives receive up-to-date training; directly pointing out and stopping identified mistakes or wrong behavior.
Operating of the Manufacturing unit in compliance with internal and external EHS regulations, timely and proactive information about changes in plant and operating conditions which require EHS approval/support
Provides active Leadership to further develop and strengthen the Grace Safety Culture at all levels of the Manufacturing team; implementation of Safety communication and feedback systems at the shop floor
Represent GRACE in all contacts with local government, permitting authorities, and other external bodies in compliance with the GRACE delegation of authority matrix.
Assures and reviews daily/weekly/monthly plant performance with regard to SQDIP and financial KPIs and initiates appropriate actions in case of deviations in alignment with Senior Management, responsible that the KPI system meet company standards and expectations
Assures compliance with defined budgets of operating units
Ensure the successful completion of investment projects on time and within budgets
Ensure and foster the setting up of open communication with all GRACEs sites with the aim of transferring best practices.
Key contact of plant related Production topics (e.g. EHS, Capital, Financial forecasting, Maintenance and Reliability, Productivity)
Key contact for Asset Teams, PT and Supply Chain organisation
Provides input into DMC calculation in the area of responsibility (BOM & Routing)
Defines performance standards for Direct Reports and Shift Leaders
Assures people development and defines talent program for key shift talent, defines talent pipeline
Required Qualifications
Chemical engineering degree or equivalent
At least 10 years professional experience in Manufacturing Operations position or similar environment
Very good communication skills, verbally and in written, German and English
Good understanding of business finance
Team player with good communication skills
Experienced and proven leadership skills
Knowledge of applicable EHS regulations and process safety regulations
Basic Lean Six Sigma Experience, at least Green Belt level
Solid technical background combined with capability and interest to understand the financial impact of plant operations
Must be able to cooperate with various stakeholders
