Are you interested in solving complex, high impact design problems for Data, Analytics, Gen AI, and Machine Learning? We're looking for a passionate and innovative UX Designer who will join us to build the future of analytics and ML experiences.

Key job responsibilities

We are looking for a creative and customer-obsessed UX Designer to help lead design for AWS Analytics, Gen AI, and ML experiences. Your work will empower millions of people working with AI and data, such as data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts.

You will work collaboratively with leaders across AWS and AWS customers to deliver a bar raising product that is intuitive, easy to use, and delightful.

You’ll be responsible for driving design deliverables such as interaction models, scenarios, sketches, storyboards, wireframes, user interface designs, and prototypes. You use Figma and are familiar with HTML/CSS. You know how to balance qualitative and quantitative data to help make the best user-centered design decisions.

You design highly crafted products that delight a wide range of users working with AI/ML and data.

You care and work towards fostering an inclusive and supportive design culture.

Drive design through all phases, from user research and exploratory prototypes to design reviews, delivery, and usability testing.

Collaborate and communicate effectively within cross-functional teams across design, product, engineering, and management.

Utility Computing (UC)

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services

About the team

Our team is focused on building products for Data Management, Analytics, Machine Learning, and GenAI app building. You'll be part of a dedicated team of UX designers working to transform how data professionals work. We are a team that collaborates closely, champions each other's work, and has fun doing it.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of design experience

  • Experience working in a collaborative team, publicly white-boarding, and working directly with developers for implementation of designs

  • Must have an online portfolio that demonstrates UX and user-centered design expertise through mockups, style guides, prototypes, and other artifacts

  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or 5+ years equivalent professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or related UX degree

  • Experience working with design tools like Figma, Sketch, XD, or Illustrator.

  • Web-based application development experience. Experience may include the ability to deliver production-ready artifacts or prototypes in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. React-based application experience ideal.

  • Experience working in a collaborative creative team

  • Experience working directly with developers for implementation of designs

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills including presentation skills

  • Experience with the current state of web technology and best practices

  • Demonstrated history of making data-driven decisions

  • Demonstrated proficiency in using and contributing to (atomic) design systems, both for consistency of brand/user experience and for efficiency in code.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in best practices for web-based application information architecture, design patterns, usability principles, and techniques

  • Demonstrated history of performing user research or gathering quantitative customer data

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
