Job Title: Therapeutic Training and Support Specialist

Job Description:

As a TTS you will be working under the supervision of a clinician to support implementation of the licensed clinician’s treatment plan. You'll be working hands-on with the youth and family in achieving the goals of that plan. The paraprofessional assists the clinician in implementing the therapeutic objectives of the treatment plan designed to address the youth’s mental health, behavioral, and emotional needs. This service includes teaching the youth to understand, direct, interpret, manage, and control feelings and emotional responses to situations and to assist the family to address the youth’s emotional and mental health needs.

Job Duties:

• Identify community resources and assist with the development of natural supports for the youth and caregiver(s).

• Referral and linkage to appropriate services along the continuum of care.

• Skills training for youth and parent(s)/caregiver(s).

• Accompany the family to meetings about the youth’s behavioral health treatment needs in schools, day care, foster homes, and other community based locations.

• Face to face and phone care coordination with collateral providers (subject to required consent).

• Verification of adequate personal auto insurance on the vehicle(s) to be used, including, at minimum, Optional Bodily Injury to Others (coverage part 5 on a Mass Auto policy) limits of $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident, and Damage to Someone Else's Property (part 4) limits of at least $100,000

• Must have reliable transportation

• Be available to meet with families in their homes in the evening, up to 8pm

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university and one (1) year of direct relevant experience working with youth and families who require behavior management to address mental health needs. Or An associate’s degree and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant direct service experience working with youth and families who require behavior management to address mental health needs.

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret client information, reports, clinical documents, education plans and the like.

• Ability to reason and solve practical problems, deal with variety of concrete variables and interpret instructions furnished in various formats.

• Successfully pass CORI/DCF checks. Driving clients is a requirement of the job.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships.

• Cultural competency across diverse populations.

Work Site:

Will be working both on-site in Easthampton office and in clients homes.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a typical office setting with common areas and offices. The noise level is generally low to moderate. The setting also includes individual homes with environments unknown to the agency. The standard schedule is Monday-Friday 9am-5pm but must be open to working as late as 8:00pm.
