JOB SUMMARY Execute goals and objectives to meet daily safety, quality, and production requirements. Work together with team members and other team leaders to monitor standard work and process flow within the work area to meet customer requirements. Promote safety goals. Provide training as appropriate. Model desired behaviors. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow Leader Standard Work (LSW).
  • Ensure people are available for critical positions.
  • Run shift communication meeting.
  • Communicate performance to targets.
  • Monitor & report resource needs.
  • Conduct regular audits & observation of standard work.
  • Ensure schedule attainment hour by hour.
  • Enter data daily into computer system when needed.
  • Identify and escalate barriers to production as appropriate.
  • Fill in as necessary to support flow.
  • Coach & model 6S behaviors & respect for environment.
  • Ensure problems are correctly identified.
  • Ensure adherence to PEI and work instructions.
  • Model & coach continuous improvement.
  • Initiate & lead improvement of standardized work.
  • Support change process.
  • Ensure proper execution of TWI Job Instruction training.
  • Help develop Job Instruction break down sheets as necessary.
  • Deliver Job Instruction training.
  • Coach & mentor standardized work.
  • Support implementation of training plan.
  • Communicate about all Accidents/Incidents.
  • Prepare shift-to-shift communication.
  • Initiate improvement & prevention in safety.
  • Communicate employee issues to Managers.
  • Communicate problems to Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in a foundry environment. Manufacturing experience required.
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Basic computer skills and understanding of Oracle. Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to use basic gages and measuring devices. Ability to read and understand diagrams. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to deal with problems. Self-motivated, flexible, and able to promote a team environment. Management skills. Good verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Conflict management skills. Teambuilding skills. Organizational skills. Time management skills. Detail oriented. Mechanically inclined. Safety conscious.
