Job Description:

The Industrial Athletic Trainer functions as a vital member of the healthcare team who contributes to the success of Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) by demonstrating customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism, self-development, and teamwork. This individual demonstrates excellent clinical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and leadership skills, and makes decisions consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health System policies, department protocols/guidelines, and the Wisconsin Practice Act associated with their profession. Promotes and encourages the services of MCHS Occupational Health Department; supports business growth with area employers and industries. Assesses the needs, and delivers health services to employers and their employees. The Industrial Athletic Trainer practice focuses on Job Analysis, Injury prevention, evaluation, and treatment, and education in areas of health promotion, industry health services, and work site safety. This individual collaborates with other MCHS departments, but specifically serves as a liaison between the company safety department and onsite services provided.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree from an athletic training education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).

Preferred/Optional: Master’s Degree in Athletic Training or related field.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required: None

Preferred/Optional: One year of active clinical or job site experience in respective roles.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required: Certification as an Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification. Licensed as an Athletic Trainer by the State of Wisconsin. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Valid State of Wisconsin Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire. Job Site Analysis Certification. National Academy of Sports Medicine Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES). Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES). National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
