The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the facility and production area.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Empties and cleans wastebaskets, trash cans etc. on nightly basis.

  • Vacuums and cleans carpet as needed in assigned areas (ride on vacuums and backpack vacuums)

  • Sweeps, wet mops and scrubs floors as needed (if assigned to operate auto-scrubber/ manual wet mop.)

  • Dusts and cleans all types of furniture, shelves, partitions, walls, ledges, doors and door frames, fixtures, and miscellaneous manufacturing equipment on a regular basis.

  • Cleans glass doors and windows.

  • Cleans and sanitizes washrooms, using cleaning chemicals (to include restocking various dispensers), shower rooms, fixtures, floors, and walls on a nightly basis.

  • Keeps daily equipment in good running order, to include making minor fixes as needed.

  • Reports to the Custodial Lead/Maintenance Manager for daily assignments.

  • Assist with setups and breakdown of conferences/meeting rooms

  • Performs other duties as assigned – including furniture moving, window cleaning, changing light bulbs, changing ceiling tiles, etc.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • 2-5 Years of experience in a similar production or manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to clearly communicating safety instructions both in writing and verbally.

  • Ability to make minor repairs preferred

  • Ability to use hand tools preferred.

  • Ability to work overtime as required.

  • Demonstrate the ability to identify potential safety hazards and maintain a strong commitment to ensuring the safety of yourself and others.

  • Forklift experience required. (stand up/ sit down)

  • Experience to work independently

  • Experience with ride on vacuums, backpack vacuums and automatic floor scrubbers preferred.

  • Experienced in safely handling of various cleaning chemicals, ensuring proper dilution and application for optimal cleanliness and safety.

Physical Demands (US only):

  • Able to stand and walk at least 75% of the time

  • Able to lift and carry heavy loads – up to 50 pounds

  • Capable of lifting and transporting 50-pound trash cans to shoulder height, efficiently emptying them into designated trash carts.

  • Able to climb stairs and ladders.
