Broadridge Financial Solutions Database Site Reliability Engineer (Hybrid) in Edgewood, New York

Broadridge is hiring! Were seeking a Database Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team! You will have the opportunity to develop, maintain and optimize our data management systems to support our organizations data-driven decisions.

We are made up of high-performing teams that meet in person to learn and collaborate as needed. This role is considered hybrid, which means youll be assigned to a Broadridge office and will work both on-site and remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze solutions and implement best practices for our main relational database environments

  • Work on observability of relevant database metrics and make sure we reach our database objectives.

  • OnCall support on rotation with the team.

  • Provide database expertise to engineering teams (for example through reviews of database migrations, queries and performance optimizations).

  • Work on automation of database infrastructure and help engineering succeed by providing self-service tools.

  • Plan the growth and manage the capacity of Broadridge's database infrastructure.

  • Design, build and maintain core database infrastructure pieces that allow Broadridge to scale to assist hundreds of thousands of concurrent users.

  • Support and debug database production issues acrossservices and levels of the stack.

  • Make monitoring and alerting alert on symptoms and SLOs,and not on outages.

  • Document every action so your learnings turn into repeatable actions and then into automation.

  • Design data structures with AWS technologies like Oracle/PostgreSQL RDS, DynamoDB, and Redshift.

  • Establish data governance policies and procedures for data integrity and compliance.

  • Work closely with IT teams, management, and other stakeholders to identify and meet data requirements.

  • Translate business needs into technical specifications.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ yearsof experience running SQL Server/PostgreSQL/Oracle in large production environments.

  • You will have strong background in Jenkins CI/CD components, database optimization, data governance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams

  • 2+ years of experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management (Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, Django, other Ruby and/or Python web frameworks, or Go.

  • Should have strong programming skills and experience working in a distributed production environment.

  • Knowledge of Linux/PowerShell and the Unix Shell.

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator, Database Engineer, or similar role, with a focus on site reliability engineering principles.

  • Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra).

  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and understanding of cloud-based database management.

  • Familiarity with database monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).

  • Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Jenkins, Python, Bash) for automation.

  • You should have the ability to orchestrate and automate complex administrative tasks.

  • Possess data modeling and data structure design skills

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

Compensation Range:The salary range for this position is between $ 140,000 - $160,000.Broadridge considers various factors when evaluating a candidate's final salary including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
