WSP USA WindServer Analyst in Edmonton, Alberta

The Opportunity:

WindServer is WSP’s online data management service for meteorological data collected at prospective and operational renewable energy project sites located around the world. As an Analyst on our WindServer team, you will gain insights into meteorological measurement campaigns and play a crucial role in validating the data that our clients depend on. .

What you can expect to do here:

  • You'll interpret data streams from solar and wind measurement equipment;

  • You'll do Quality Control assessment of wind and solar data using WindServer and in-house tools;

  • You'll administer weekly Quality Control reviews of wind and solar data;

  • You'll communicate to client manager any identified issues;

  • You'll maintain updates to WindServer with all maintenance work and new tower installs;

  • You'll review and validate WindServer entries;

  • You'll contribute to data and equipment management within WindServer;

  • You'll maintain vendor equipment lists;

  • You'll assist with equipment selection for meteorological deployment plans;

  • You'll coordinate with manufacturers and interpret technical documentation;

  • You'll collaborate with WSP's Wind and Solar teams to develop Quality Control practices.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, data science or applicable technical discipline;

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret graphical data;

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools (Excel, Word, Outlook);

  • Proficiency with Matlab;

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment;

  • Ability to learn to use new software tools;

  • Ability to work independently and adhere to project deadlines;

  • Affinity for improving workflow processes, the ability to balance standardization while increasing processes efficiency and quality;

  • Pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving.
