Job Summary

The Technical Fellow - Manufacturing Engineering – CAM will provide their technical expertise in CAD/CAM systems to increase engineering capabilities, improve operational programs, and actively support technological development. The Technical Fellow - Manufacturing Engineering – CAM, reports hierarchically and functionally to the Site Engineering Manager and operationally supports engineering functions within the global Repair Solutions organization.

Job Responsibilities

• CAM (NC Programming) - Responsible for the development of NC Programming solutions to complex problem through the implementation of NC Programs, from original concept through to production. • Develop NC Programming solutions for a high degree of process capabilities utilizing the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite to demonstrate as such. • Engage in technical discussions and contributes to advancing internal technology development aiming to enhance NC programming techniques. • Assist in defining the updated NC programming related system procedures to reflect the internal ways of working. • Act as a stakeholder to assure all products meet the highest degree of quality control and guide the dedicated engineer to meet those standards. • Actively seeks the implementation of new advanced technology and fixturing methodology. • Assist in the implementation of SPC or enabling existing technology for data collection. • Accountable for the implementation of production planning, from original concept through to production. • Accountable for product development, first article development, configuration changes, build process definition and implementation. • Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards. • Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances. • Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical or Materials Science Engineering) • 5+ years of engineering experience in multi-disciplinary engineering project teams and include some experience within an aerospace environment. • 10+ years of experience managing complex engineering projects or having acted as engineering / functional team leader • 10+ years of experience in NC Programming • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements. Preferred Qualifications: • Fabrication, machining, welding and assembly experience preferred • Aerospace experience is strongly preferred • Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000 • Training and/or experience in lean tools and techniques (Practical Problem Solving, A3, PFMEA and /or Fishbone diagrams) • Project / Program Management • Familiarity with AS9145 APQP process or equivalent • Ability to read, write and comprehend blueprints, ASME Y14.5 • Ability to use test equipment and inspection equipment • CAD and or various computer systems, NX preferred • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely • Fluent in English language, both written and spoken • Management of Multiple Complex Projects from a certification perspective; ability to rationalize, assess and evaluate information that may not always be clear or mature • Project management, planning and organizing skills to handle multiple diverse repair projects at diverse locations

Compensation Range

The Compensation range for this position is between $141,093 - $176,366
