Position Description:
Inspects, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Major/Essential Functions:
Installs, operates, and repairs electrical equipment and systems of all types in accordance with the latest NEC guidelines.
Performs preventative maintenance on all existing electrical systems and equipment.
Performs other similar and related duties as assigned that utilize the employee's education, experience and unique skill set.
May cover 24/7 shifts if required.
Works with other trades and maintenance staff to complete maintenance and installation of other building systems.
Provides quick and efficient response to work related emergencies during normal business hours, after hours, weekends and holidays.
Performs regular electrical work after hours, weekends and holidays as deemed necessary by supervisor depending on workload and customer's needs.
Keeps all work areas and related electrical equipment and/or tool rooms clean at all times.
Takes care of all tools belonging to the institution that are being used by the electrical team.
Prepare and submit work documentation, to include work order submission, changes to system (e.g. directories), etc. Supervises documentation prepared by assigned personnel.
Updates, maintains and coordinates information and schematic drawings pertaining to the facilities’ mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
Actively participates and completes training, personal development, and continuing education.
Must have and maintain valid State of Texas drivers license and be listed as an approved driver as determined by Risk Management and Insurance carrier. Must be able to pass the employee criminal background check.
Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes.

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Licensed Journeyman Electrician with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation or other state OR
Four years of job relevant experience and training.
