Position Description:

The SSSE Operation & Administration Compliance Officer will carry out all necessary administrative duties to support the effective operation of the division's offices and ensure the compliance and accountability of federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures. This position requires highly effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (both oral and written) in order to effectively interface with parents, students, and staff members.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Primarily responsible for understanding and evaluating the division's responsibilities as a participant in the Title IV federal aid program and as a Texas institution of higher education to ensure that the division's operations comply with federal, state, local, and institutional requirements.

  • Conducts financial aid compliance tests for each program to ensure strict adherence to federal regulations and guidelines, policies, and procedures.

  • Collaborate with division leadership to revise policies and policies and procedures to accommodate changes in federal and state regulations as well as institutional policies and ensure that established procedures are followed.

  • Update the division's Standard Operations Procedures Manual and websites, as appropriate.

  • Handle escalated issues related to program compliance with higher education agencies and third party advocates.

  • Develop and implement an effective program review of aid programs and student records, proactively auditing processes, practices, and documents.

  • Conduct regular training for staff within the institution related to student records and Title IV compliance-related regulations and changes.

  • Ensure that the office operations and business transactions follow all relevant legal requirements, policies, and procedures.

  • Will assist in the regular review and maintenance of student records to ensure that the information maintained in the records is current and valid.

  • Will act as a liaison between SSSE offices, individual schools, and students regarding required records maintenance, data compliance, and progress on SSSE led projects.

  • Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.).

  • Personally demonstrate, display and act in accordance with TTUHSC EP's Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Serve as a Value's leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, or similar related field

  • 3 to 5 years of administrative or project management experience

  • Experience working with federal compliance preferred
