Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Quality Assurance Loan Assistant Manager in Ellsworth, Maine

Summary:

Quality Assurance serves as a key control function for many areas of the Bank assuring proper documentation of accounts, loans and reporting. Quality Assurance is a vital part of the Bank’s Compliance Team. The Quality Assurance Assistant Manager (Loans) must have general knowledge of bank loan process and have eye for detail. Knowledge of lending regulations, compliance and/or secondary market eligible loans is a plus.

Responsibilities (Essential):

  • Executes and coordinates daily reports and new/modification account review and assists when needed. These reports include but are not limited to…

  • Review of Daily Loan Maintenance

  • Review of New Retail, Residential and Commercial Loans

  • Review of Modifications to Retail, Residential and Commercial Loans

  • Creation of Monthly Secondary Market Reports for Quality Assurance (Includes Freddie Mac, FHLB and more to be added)

  • Review of HMDA Data Accuracy

  • Executes and coordinates centralized indexing of all bank documentation including but not limited to...

  • Loan Documents

  • Deposit Documents

  • Digital Banking Documents

  • Branch Logs

  • Works with Loan Servicing, Residential Loan and Commercial Loan Departments to ensure proper processes are in place

  • Assists with loan projects.

  • Answers daily questions on behalf of Quality Assurance via email, zoom or phone

  • Has Direct Reports

  • Consistently meets established standards for first class customer service as outlined in the Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Brand Best Practices guide, and is engaged and curious about customer relationships.

  • Ensures compliance with branch security, audit and compliance procedures.

  • Communicates timely to supervisor with needed improvements to ensure facilities and grounds have a professional and welcoming appearance.

  • Comprehend and adhere to federal banking regulations in accordance with Bar Harbor Bank & Trust’s policies and procedures.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of a high school degree or the equivalent

  • Banking experience is required, prior loan experience is preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of Bank products and services

  • Understanding of cross-departmental functions

  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated aptitude and desire for customer service and sales achievement

  • Decision-maker with well-developed interpersonal skills

  • A role model of the Brand Behaviors and Guiding Principles

  • Active listening and communication skills, verbal and written; proven ability to adapt tone and techniques to best suit the audience

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and acclimate quickly to changing priorities; multi-tasking

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical Demands: General office environment. This role requires prolonged periods of standing and looking at a computer screen; repetitive motion of wrists and fingers, as well as reaching over the counter; talking and hearing; the ability to lift/move 50 pound coin bags.

Schedule Expectations:

Must be flexible to include Saturday coverage.

Required Travel:

Some travel may be required. Must be flexible to travel to other Bank locations as needed.
