Main Focus

This position has responsibility for engineering and maintenance support at the plant in Elyria. This position will also take an active role in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities for the site.

 

Accountabilities

  • Maintenance Department leadership and technical support
  • Prepare work order reports and other maintenance metrics
  • Maintenance and reliability of physical assets
  • Support ISO 9001, 14001 & Responsible Care (RC) Programs
  • Process Safety Management

Responsibilities

  • Manage the maintenance staff and all aspects of equipment reliability in Elyria
  • Improve process efficiencies of the site operating plants
  • Support site environmental, safety and operations groups
  • Coordinate, direct, and manage contractors and external vendors
  • Consult and work on capital projects with Engineering Manager
  • Provide coverage for Maintenance Planner when needed
  • Willing to be available off-shift for calls and/or troubleshooting issues onsite
  • Maintaining documentation for plants and equipment
  • Maintenance of process equipment (PM, PdM, etc.)
  • Understand PSM standard and ensure compliance with the standard (MOC, PHA)
  • Maintain competent working technical staff
    • Skill development
    • Personal development -- Leadership, technical expertise
    • Oversee safety and professional training for mechanics and instrument technician
    • Conduct performance appraisals for direct reports
  • Program Development -- PSM, Predictive Maintenance, Lean (OEE)

     

Requirements

Associates or Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, such as chemical, electrical, or mechanical or equivalent experience required

A minimum of 5 years of exper
