Johnson and Johnson’s Innovative Health Engagement and Advocacy (IHE&A) organization has been created to drive meaningful impact to participant health and wellbeing by reinventing the clinical trial experience. The Innovative Health Engagement & Advocacy organization connects teams across development to novel capabilities and solutions, unleashing the potential of innovation to drive broader access to innovative medicines, and enrich the healthcare experience for all.

As the Director of Feasibility Strategy within IHE&A, your role will be pivotal in shaping our above trial Feasibility strategies, including feasibility platforms roadmap. You will collaborate closely with Delivery Unit (DU) stakeholders and other important functions across the organization, including Data Science & Digital Health (DSDH), to drive a data-driven approach to our work, including site segmentation and site tiering. Working closely with our DSDH partners, you will gain valuable insights into current trends and identify key areas of opportunity to enhance our Feasibility ways of working (WoW) within the DUs.

Your responsibilities will include the creation of innovative frameworks and WoW, tailored to meet the needs of the specific DUs, including our Medical Affairs Organization (MAO). You will drive innovation in how we approach Feasibility to support DUs in accelerating site identification and start-up of our clinical trials. Your contributions within this role will be instrumental in optimizing our Feasibility Engagement strategies with our trusted partners and supporting the seamless operations of our clinical trials globally.

With your expertise in Feasibility engagement and commitment to excellence, you will establish JJIM as the benchmark for industry-leading Feasibility practices. As a senior member of IHE&A, your role will include the crucial responsibilities such as staffing, training and developing team members to effectively meet current and future business needs. Primary responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with all relevant functions who contribute to the Feasibility framework, including but not limited to the Innovative Health Advanced Insights team within IHE&A, the Feasibility Center of Excellence teams within the DUs and DSDH.

  • Work collaboratively with these key stakeholders to design strategies aligned with the priorities of the DUs.

  • Develop tailored engagement approaches and tools that enable the DUs to work seamlessly with key stakeholders, accelerating their start up activities and optimizing the efficiency of the Feasibility process.

  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of functions within JJIM best placed to support the Feasibility process. This includes assessing current performance, identifying gaps, and uncovering opportunities to enhance the process and improve WoW.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to ensure an integrated and cohesive approach to Feasibility.

  • Provide dynamic leadership to a team of professionals, guiding their development, identifying coaching opportunities, and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific or healthcare discipline or relevant field required

  • PharmD, MS, MD or PhD preferred

Required:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in site feasibility process within pharmaceutical R&D

  • Previous experience in feasibility processes and practice is essential

  • Possess strong analytical skills and ability to effectively utilize data to inform feasibility assessments and drive decision making

  • Proven ability to think strategically and bring innovative ideas to evolve and optimize Feasibility processes and frameworks

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across matrix organizations

  • Ability to thrive in a complex and rapidly changing environment, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility

  • Strong leadership acumen, with experience in managing teams and establishing a positive work environment

  • Skilled in creating structured approaches to drive flawless execution and establish standards of excellence

  • Up to 10% travel – Domestic & International

Preferred:

  • 2 years of people management experience

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $142,000 to $244,950.

  • The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year

  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
