NBCUniversal is seeking a Business Analyst to join a driven and highly motivated team within Media Operations, part of the larger Operations & Technology organization.

Media Operations is responsible for managing NBCUniversal’s content supply chain, including ingest, QC, prep, and fulfillment to deliver content on behalf of the company’s Domestic and International properties ranging from film studios to broadcast networks and streaming platforms.

The Business Analyst will serve as a supporting member of a team who can help identify, extract, analyze, and report out on all financial data points for NBCUniversal’s Domestic and International content supply chain.  They will play an integral role in the day-to-day management of Media Operations finances, including facilitating payments, revenue tracking, budgeting, and forecasting. In addition to being responsible for financial aspects of Media Operations, the Business Analyst will aide in analyzing and proposing thoughtful operational changes based on revenue trends; collaborating with internal Studio Fulfillment, Enterprise Product, Business, Engineering and Finance teams. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Regularly track and report amortization and production accruals for each line of business supported by Media Operations

  • Regularly generate revenue projections for each line of business supported by Media Operations

  • Extract and analyze financial data metrics to support workflow improvements and illustrate key trends.

  • Conduct financial analysis of budgets and prepare thorough presentations to highlight any issues or areas of concerns providing sound financial recommendations to upper management. Assist with creating presentations to communicate strategic initiative scope, findings and execution plans to management, stakeholders, and broader groups across NBCUniversal.

  • Associate financial data points with operational KPIs by collecting data, and presenting the data visually. Automating data collection processes where possible.

  • Own financial reporting (project status, accomplishments, updates, KPIs, and productivity) on behalf of the Media Operations department.

  • Support the department’s operating rhythm for long-range planning (LRP) as needed.

  • Use business acumen to thoroughly understand the operation and to develop operational expertise.

  • Identify risks & opportunities and provide solutions to potential overage issues with budgets.

  • Coordinate working sessions with Finance team to regularly deliver on billing calendar deadlines.

  • Lead weekly/monthly calls across operations teams and ad-hoc as needed.

  • Identify data patterns to help recommend and implement timely solutions with appropriate parties throughout the NBCU supply chain.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration.

  • 2+ years of recent relevant work experience in finance, data procurement, program or portfolio management or metrics reporting.

  • 2+ years of experience creating business presentations for executive audiences.

  • 1+ years of experience managing financial data reporting in an operational environment.

  • Ability to clearly and concisely articulate complicated financial metrics in an understandable way for a variety of audiences. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel formulas, lookups and Smartsheet capabilities.

  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, including: current state and cost benefit analysis, market research, basic financial modeling. 

  • Excellent organization and communication skills, including written and verbal. 

  • Demonstrated ability and a proven track record of success in supporting delivering financial data points a collaborative and fast-paced environment. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams.

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel formulas, lookups and Smartsheet automation capabilities.

  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Smartsheet, SQL, Tableau, Lucid Chart a plus. 

  • Acute attention to detail.

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
