The coordinator positions will work with volunteers, youth groups, and partner groups in support of education and maintenance activities throughout the zone. The equipment operator role will work and train with an experienced equipment operator in support of general recreation facility maintenance and support. The positions will primarily support operations at their duty location, but recreation employees on the south zone strive to work as a team when opportunities arise.

In addition to a dynamic and fast paced summer program, the south zone operates a growing and in-demand winter program, which offers the opportunity to extend tours for these PSE 18/8 positions. The zone hosts three ski areas operated under special use permit, adding opportunities for ski area snow ranger duties in the winter. There is also a need for education and enforcement support at various motorized and non-motorized sno-parks located around the zone.
