About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [PN]

This posting is for two (2) Troubleman Shifts, based out of the Erie, PA location.

Responsibilities

  • Locating and making repairs on distribution facilities, and other related equipment;

  • Responding to fires or accident scenes; clearing wires, cutting off electric services when necessary; isolating sections of lines; cooperating with public authorities;

  • Determine the extent of necessary repairs and requesting appropriate assistance for repairs when necessary;

  • Must be qualified and have performed switching and tagging operations in unattended substations, as directed;

  • Handling customer disconnects and reconnects, as required;

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have performed the above duties within the past 2 years;

  • Must have successfully demonstrated job skills of a Journeyman Lineworker;

  • Must be able to diagnose trouble and solve the problem encountered;

  • Must be able to make clear, concise and accurate reports and properly receive and quickly and correctly interpret orders; and

  • Must have the necessary tact, judgment, pleasant manner and neat appearance for handling calls on customers’ property;

  • Must possess a valid CDL Driver’s license and possess the appropriate DOT required license and certifications;

  • Must be able to travel and work flexible hours.
