What do you contribute?

  • In your new role, you will work in the department responsible for central and global project purchasing for commuter rail such as the Mireo or the Desiro High Capacity.

  • You will be responsible for the strategic purchasing function in national and international projects, where you will be a member of the core team for the duration of the bid and project execution phase.

  • In the bidding phase, you will be responsible for taking on the sales requirements for sourcing and coordinating the purchasing bidding strategy and its successful implementation.

  • During processing, you will ensure that the material cost and deadline targets are achieved. You also initiate countermeasures in coordination with the specialist purchasing department in the event of deviations.

  • Well-founded risk and opportunity management is also part of your area of activity, as is the derivation of solutions for purchasing-relevant tasks in the project (including adapted negotiation and contract strategies, supplier and logistics concepts, etc.).

  • You will support the ongoing digitalization of processes and the data landscape in purchasing in order to enable efficient and up-to-date processes.

What do you bring along?

  • You hold a master's degree in a business or engineering major.

  • You have several years of experience in strategic purchasing, bid management or project management.

  • In addition, you are familiar with technically highly complex capital goods projects (e.g. plant engineering or railroad technology).

  • You also have practical experience of working in intercultural and interdisciplinary teams.

  • Furthermore, you have very good commercial knowledge, technical (product) knowledge as well as extensive knowledge of contract law and extended process knowledge in the field of supply chain management.

  • For your work in international projects, you have a very good command of German and English and be willing to travel (approx. 10%).
