Eaton Corporation Manufacturing Engineering Excellence Manager in Euclid, Ohio

Eaton’s AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Excellence Manager. This position is based out of our Euclid, OH facility. Manufacturing engine fuel pumps for both military and commercial aircraft, our Euclid facility has approximately 330 employees.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

The Manufacturing Engineering Excellence Manager is responsible for leading the Manufacturing Engineering and Continuous Improvement teams in the ongoing implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles at the plant level in compliance with the Continuous Improvement Framework and the Eaton Lean System requirements.

  • Supervises product, process, plant manufacturing, assembly, and engineering projects to improve process capabilities, drive down cost, and improve manufacturing capabilities.

  • Supports annual budget preparation through the development of capital projects/expenditures.

  • Drives accountability to maintain timelines, project initiatives, and cost structures. Delegate project workloads and allocate resources to accomplish desired results.

  • Manages the qualification of new products and raw materials to be incorporated into the manufacturing process.

  • Participates in manufacturing process decisions involving new and existing product lines to assess/improve equipment & capacity.

  • Maintain an environment conducive to continuous improvement in manufacturing. Recommends alternatives for improving production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions. This includes working closely with cross functional continuous improvement teams.

  • Coordinates manufacturing engineering functional communication among resources to ensure cost, quality, and delivery objectives are met (internal, external, sales/marketing, engineering, design, etc.) while ensuring that all compliance expectations are met.

  • Drive the CI vision at the plant level and inspire others to connect with the vision by driving a lean culture and implementing lean tools and processes, including gap analysis to current state.

  • Lead Lean Internal Audits including Eaton’s Operational Assessment. Develops implementation plans with Business Team and Operational Leaders post audit (Tactical Plans).

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience leading Manufacturing Engineers or Continuous Improvement teams in a machining environment.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

  • No relocation is offered for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 50-mile radius of the Euclid, OH facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

  • Proven track record leading manufacturing engineering, continuous or process improvement teams.

  • Knowledge of metal machining techniques.

  • Understanding of organizational behavior, including the ability to build a team, motivate, counsel, and constructively interact with people at all levels.

  • Aerospace experience.

  • Experience in a Union Environment.
