Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Payloads Senior Engineering Manager (Level L) to join the Flammability and Fire Marshal Center of Excellence, which is part of the Payloads Core Engineering organization based in Everett, Washington.

As a Senior Manager for the BCA Flammability and Fire Marshal Center of Excellence, you will be responsible for the strategy and vision for the team, overall functional and technical excellence of the team, including initiatives that focus on quality, people, and delivering results. This Senior Manager position is a high impact role that provides deep experience in Boeing process and certification activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leadership of key activities supporting multi-model flammability certification such as compliance deliverables, development program efforts, as well as exposure to the flammability lab, the Boeing flammability value stream, and/or Boeing suppliers.

  • Working with the team and Payloads Core to ensure that all flammability requirements are being met for all BCA programs.

  • Oversight of a large flammability team (5 level K managers, 77 engineers and technical employees in Puget Sound, plus global teammates in India and Ukraine).

  • Broad leadership engagement working with 737, 767, 777X, and 787 Interiors teams; requiring you to work with teams across Everett, WA; Renton, WA; Charleston, SC; San Diego, CA; Chennai, India; and Kyiv, Ukraine.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Everett, WA)

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 2+ years of experience as a Manager leading engineering teams.

  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering related role.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience ):

  • Flammability experience.

  • Interiors experience.

  • Strong understanding of certification processes and requirements.

  • Strong ability to build trust and connection with the team and stakeholders.

  • Excellent collaboration, working together, and teaming skills.

  • Strong ability to model and inspire servant leadership style, and model seek, speak, and listen behaviors.

  • Must be a self-starter, managing overall performance and health of statement of work.

  • Proficient at solving complex problems and dealing with ambiguity including dynamic program schedules.

  • Driven to proactively identify and mitigate risk early – leverage program management best practices.

  • Ability to manage both customer intro and airplane non-recurring statement of work at the same time.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Creativity and innovative thinking - develop solutions that meet customer and Boeing needs.

  • Flexibility, adaptability, and being comfortable with a highly dynamic and exciting work environment.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $161,500 - $218,500
