Senior Radiochemist, MCFR TerraPower, LLC is dedicated to advancing a cutting-edge, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable energy solution to support the decarbonization objectives of utilities and industries. We are currently seeking an exceptionally skilled and motivated professional for the role of MCFR Senior Radioanalytical Chemist, a key position directly contributing to our mission. In this role, the MCFR Senior Radiochemist will actively engage in experiments related to the Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) technology. The position involves working at the intersection of nuclear reactor development and innovative waste reduction technologies. The ideal candidate will possess proven laboratory expertise in experimental design and implementation, with potential responsibilities including serving as a Principal Investigator (PI) or Technical Lead (TL) on various projects, including method development. Collaboration is integral to this role, as the candidate will interface with a dynamic, cross-functional, multi-cultural, and interdisciplinary team. Effective communication, teamwork, and collaboration are essential, with a focus on maintaining composure to ensure safety, data quality, and facilitate timely decision-making. Key responsibilities include contributing to experiment design, execution, and data analysis on chloride-based molten salt systems. These activities directly address gaps in our understanding of molten salt chemistry, crucial for the transition to a demonstration reactor program. Specific requirements encompass analytical or electroanalytical characterization of actinide salts or fission products, as well as the development of analytical techniques for salt analysis and processes. Moreover, the candidate is expected to play a role in training, developing, and mentoring other team members, contributing to the overall growth and expertise of our workforce.
